180.6 I hit a valley in weight loss. A few things in life are showing on the scale. I have been a little lax about counting every point. This happens in a lot of peoples' journeys I am sure. This week I will try very hard to get back on the mountain (note for southerners:: A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill).
I am excited about a few 5Ks that I want to do coming up. There is a zombie run, color run, and Turkey trot one per week for 3 weeks in a row. Maybe you're not supposed to do three 5K in a row like that but I am excited to say the least.
I need to lose .84 pounds a week to get to my goal. One of those weeks has my birthday. Another week is Thanksgiving. Holidays are hard for weight loss but hopefully I can stay strong and get through it. It won't be perfect but hopefully it won't be as bad as holidays past.

I also found myself in the same valley this week. I maintained my weight at 237.2. Perhaps I'm just enjoying the view and the fresh air. My clothes are fitting looser (in some cases fitting again) and that feels really good. I think that one of the great food lies I tell myself is that "I deserve to eat more" somehow I think that if I do some sort of physical activity I'm suddenly entitled to a more generous portion of delicious food. That is simply not true. If I want to truly be healthy and lose weight then I need to reward my body by not eating harmful foods or unhealthy amounts of food. Plus I've got to make up some ground for all the "rewarding" I did just because I like food. I too will struggle with these holidays. That's one reason I set my goal for a year out instead of by the end of the year. I know that it takes a lot of work to undo just small lapses in food judgement though. It sure would be nice if there was a once a year coupon that you could use for a week of no consequence eating. I'm pretty sure I would use it for Thanksgiving. This week I want to see 235 on the scale. Wish me luck.

You two can do it. Please don't give up you have already developed so many good habits and learned many lessons. You can do it.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are awesome!!! I've lost 30 pounds since baby #2, but stopped running a couple months ago and have only counted calories inconsistently and gained 5 of it back. But I started running again last week and am going to be more dedicated about only saying "yes" to healthy foods. Hopefully I'll be able to lose this last 20 pounds to get to my ultimate goal! Yummy food is delicious for a minute, but it's got nothing on feeling healthy and happy!
