Friday--
I weighed in at 234!! Hooray, no more 237. I know I've got to work harder now though to get to my goal. Discipline is key. I've lowered my daily points allotment to 26 from 28 and I think that helped. I've also been playing Ultimate Frisbee on Tuesday nights and that helps too. I probably need to do a little more activity. This weekend I had to work and I think that made it more difficult to be active. I took Lindsey out on a date. We had good time, but I probably ate about 17 times the points I should have. That shrimp sure was delicious though.
Saturday--
I had to work half day, but made it home in time for conference (I'm glad I did because conference started out with a bang). My meals for the day:
B: Cereal (5)
L: Shrimp Po-Boy (8)
D: I ate with my brothers before the Priesthood Session (17X again)
Total: Too Much (I ate 16 points in bread alone yesterday--buns, eeke!)
Sunday--
Today is Sunday, so I've only eaten 1 meal so far. Delicious blueberry pancakes and blueberry orange slush, plus a fried egg and syrup for the cakes. 8 points.

Friday-
I finally made it past the valley and am climbing again. 178.6 I didn't do enough running because I have been sick and it is a little colder. I welcome the cold BUT I didn't want to breathe it in and hurt my chances at getting better for next week.
Saturday-
B: Oatmeal (4)
L: Shrimp Po-Boy (8)
D: LO pizza (6)
snack: orange juice (4)
Total:: 22
Hitting the valley is really hard. Most of the time, it is when I give up. I pushed through and am glad.

B: Oatmeal (4)
L: German Pancakes (8)
D: Muffins/Eggs (8)

I know it was breakfast all day but I like breakfast. I went for a run this morning though I was feeling sick and I think it helped a lot. 1) I didn't feel depressed that I didn't run 2) I sweated a lot 3) I think it healed me quite a bit. I feel like I sweated out a lot of the sickness.

L: Haystacks (7)
D: Breakfast Burritos (8)
S: Cheese Crackers (5)

B: Bowl o' cereal (5)
L: Haystacks (10)
D: Bowl o; cereal (5)
Total: 20
Yes, I cut back my points to 26. Gotta lose, I'm for real, and the truth is I know I don't need my whole 28 points any more. I had 20 points on Tuesday and I feel fine. I also played ultimate frisbee before dinner. That was fun and I think I handled it better than the weeks previous. I'm not sure why.

Sunday 30 September 2012
B: cold cereal (5)
L: LO
D: Stuffed shells (6) Green Beans (0)
Total : I really need to care more about counting my points
We have decided that aside from my birthday and Thanksgiving, there will be no dessert till we leave for Christmas. Hitting the valley means things need to change so our bodies don't get bored.

Weigh In 29 Sep 2012
180.6 I hit a valley in weight loss. A few things in life are showing on the scale. I have been a little lax about counting every point. This happens in a lot of peoples' journeys I am sure. This week I will try very hard to get back on the mountain (note for southerners:: A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill).
I am excited about a few 5Ks that I want to do coming up. There is a zombie run, color run, and Turkey trot one per week for 3 weeks in a row. Maybe you're not supposed to do three 5K in a row like that but I am excited to say the least.
I need to lose .84 pounds a week to get to my goal. One of those weeks has my birthday. Another week is Thanksgiving. Holidays are hard for weight loss but hopefully I can stay strong and get through it. It won't be perfect but hopefully it won't be as bad as holidays past.
--Lindsey
I also found myself in the same valley this week. I maintained my weight at 237.2. Perhaps I'm just enjoying the view and the fresh air. My clothes are fitting looser (in some cases fitting again) and that feels really good. I think that one of the great food lies I tell myself is that "I deserve to eat more" somehow I think that if I do some sort of physical activity I'm suddenly entitled to a more generous portion of delicious food. That is simply not true. If I want to truly be healthy and lose weight then I need to reward my body by not eating harmful foods or unhealthy amounts of food. Plus I've got to make up some ground for all the "rewarding" I did just because I like food. I too will struggle with these holidays. That's one reason I set my goal for a year out instead of by the end of the year. I know that it takes a lot of work to undo just small lapses in food judgement though. It sure would be nice if there was a once a year coupon that you could use for a week of no consequence eating. I'm pretty sure I would use it for Thanksgiving. This week I want to see 235 on the scale. Wish me luck.
